Can be found in Eastern tropical Africa; in the countries of Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, E. Uganda, and N.E. Tanzania. They are named for their bald head and neck, which resembles a vulture. The vulturine guineafowl is often referred to as the "royal guineafowl" because it tends to have the most striking appearance - royal blue and white/ black striped feathers.
Also - fun fact! I thought I had never seen these birds before but they actually feature in the opening song of The Lion King, even more obvious in the newer released one!
