Hi, I’m Tara
I'm a wildlife photographer and conservation ranger based in the Wairarapa, with over a decade of experience working with New Zealand's threatened wildlife. As Wildlife Manager at New Zealand's national wildlife centre, I oversee breed-for-release programmes for species including kiwi, yellow-crowned kākāriki and whio. Alongside my conservation work, I specialise in photographing New Zealand's native birds and the wild Kaimanawa horses, using photography to share their stories, encourage a connection with nature, and support conservation.
Every photograph begins with patience, respect, and the hope that one person might fall in love with a species they never noticed before.
